	More men are choosing to have cosmetic surgery than ever before. In 1992, 55,000 men underwent cosmetic surgery. By 1998, that number had risen to 268,290-greater than 300% increase, according to the American Society for Plastic Surgery (ASPS).
	The most frequent procedures for men in 1999 : Rhinoplasty (nose surgery); Liposuction; Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and Facelift. Other common favorites include: Hair transplantation and Hair removal (back and neck).
	Many men are viewing this choice as a business decision, realizing that their physical appearance may have a direct impact on their careers. Cosmetic Surgery is another way of showing that you're a man who notices, and takes care of the details.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have heard about good results with the Ultrasonic liposuction technique. Is this the technique that you use?

Ultrasonic liposuction is only one of two liposuction techniques we use, which allows us to choose the approach that is optimal for each patient. Ultrasonic liposuction is best for dense, fibrous areas, such as the male chest, upper abdomen, and "spare tire". In areas that have "soft" fat, we find that the "tumescent" technique is better. The best results come from choosing the appropriate technique for a given body area.

How common is it for men to have liposuction?

Very. Men commonly gain weight in the abdomen and chest areas and, due to the nature of this kind of fat deposit, have a difficult time working it off. Ultrasonic liposuction is particularly useful for the fibrotic areas men tend to accrue fat in.

Can liposuction give definition to men's abdominal muscles?

Liposuction is ideally suited to sculpting a specific area, such as the abdomen. We can address the indentation along the midline and make it more obvious with liposuction. The muscles will be more pronounced following fat removal. The combination of liposuction to remove fat and body building to develop the musculature can produce "six pack" abs that men dream of.

I work for a high-profile firm in a field that's very competitive. Lately, I've become concerned about how my appearance may affect my future -- I have 30 years of valuable experience but I look like the "old guy." My jowls sag and my eyes have bags. What can you do for me?

We are seeing more and more men who are requesting facelifts to treat the sagging jowls and other changes which accompany aging. And, yes, they treat it as a business decision. A properly performed facelift results in a natural, younger and more rested appearance, which sounds like exactly what you want. Men usually have better skin elasticity than women, speeding recovery and improving redraping of the skin. You also mentioned having baggy eyes. A lower lid blepharoplasty can be done at the same time as a facelift and costs less than if you had the procedures done separately.
